The Studio's Own Site

The idea

This site. Inertia scroll, an eight-pillar service architecture, per-service pages and a work rail — the studio's own argument, made in the medium it sells.

An agency site that looks like every other agency site is an argument against itself. If the pitch is that we build things people remember, the site has to be the first proof, and it has to survive the scrutiny of the people most likely to check — other developers.

How we are building it

Motion is the first thing to become decoration, so every effect has to justify itself against speed and accessibility or it is cut — several were. The reveal animations were rebuilt on opacity after clip-path reveals turned out to leave elements invisible on mobile, which is the kind of bug that only shows up on a real phone and costs you every visitor on one.

What is being built

• Inertia scrolling, a cursor-tracked preview layer and page transitions
• Eight service pillars, each with its own page and deliverable set
• A work rail carrying the delivered projects and the research shelf
• A media manifest that content-stamps every asset so a replaced file busts its own cache
• Motion tuned separately for phones, where most of the traffic is
